Multifunctional coating dispersant LD-124
First, Introduction

for solvent type coating has excellent performance and the quality is steady. It can totally replace the imported goods.
Second, Main Physicochemical Properties
Appearance: Light yellow liquid
Density: 1.05-1.10
Viscosity: ≧300 Mpa.s
PH: 3-4
Solubility: It can be dissolved in isopropanol、methylbenzene and mineral oil.
Third, Application performance
The product has the obvious performance in improving dispersity、anti-sink ability and storage stability in various kinds of pigment such as carbon black、phthalocyanine blue、titanium white、
iron oxide red、medium chrome yellow. And it also has a good leveling effect, anti-sagging, saving the grind time and
improving the adhesive force and the appearance quality of the film. In addition, it has the functions as flame-retardant,
anti-corrosion, improving cohesiveness and catalytic curing. It can be used for general solvent type coating.
Generally speaking, the main application performance is as follows:
1. Improving dispersity and anti-sink ability for all kinds of phthalocyanines and metal pigments.
After using LD-124 dispersant, most pigment has obvious anti-sink effect in epoxy resin.
2. Reducing the system viscosity of inorganic substance in organic phase, adding the filling amount.
3. The aluminium hydroxide which has used LD-124 will display thixotropy in amine cured epoxy resin.
4. Increasing the color strength and reflectance of coatings obviously, improving cohesiveness of organic polymer to
all kinds of metal、glass、concrete and inorganic materials.
5. Improving the dispersity of titanium dioxide in polypropylene、hot melt terpene resin、epoxy resin、acrylic resin
and alkyd resin.
6. LD-124 has preferable sink-resistance, especially has nice collaborative effect if used together with organobentonite.
Fourth, Application Scope
Nitrocellulose lacquer、alkyd paint、amino paint、chlorinated rubber paint、epoxy paint、acrylic paint、polyurethane paint、latex paint and so on.
Fifth, Usage and consumption (two usages)
1. Diluting the product with isopropanol or other solvent as per ratio 1:1, then grind in the pigment or filler.
The recommended dosage is 1% of pigment or filler. The best used amount depends on test.
2. Adding 0.3%-0.6% of the total coating into paint vehicle, after mixing evenly then begin grinding
and disperse by adding the pigment、filler.
Sixth, Points for Attention
This product has strong activity. You’d better add it in after sand milling to avoid reducing the product function,
because it contains surfactant hydroxyl and carboxyl.
If adding excessive LD-1124, it may lead to some defect of mobility aspect. And it may cause the possibility of
extending the self-dry time, for those coating which need to add drier.
