Dispersing and Anti-settling Agent LD-1291S
(similar to BYK ANTI-TERRA-U)
First, summary
It is used as dispersing and grinding additive, anti-sinking agent, and anti-floating additive for painting, coating, ink and other similar surface coating.
Second, component
It is 50% advanced aromatic solution of electron neutral salt, produced by polycarboxylic acid and amine derivative.
Third, typical physicochemical data
Appearance: brown transparent liquid
Activity portion: 45±5%
Density(20℃): 0.9-1.1/cm3
Acid value: 60-70mgKOH/g
Refractive index(20℃): 1.400-1.500
Forth, application
LD-1291S is a common additive in solvent paints, which is especially effective in the paints on basis of the following resins: alkyd resin, alkyd/amino resin, acrylic acid and epoxy resin, chlorinated rubber/polymerized oil and so on. Some linear resins with hydroxyl (such as DESMOPHEN resin from BAYER Co., Ltd.) can be thixotropic when they are used together with LD-1291S.
Except that LD-1291s is a kind of effective dispersion, it can obviously reduce rusting tendency on the bottom of coating, especially brushing anticorrosion paint on wetting surface like iron and steel. It can lower crust possibility and improve fluidity when it is in oil based coating or even when tung oil exists.
Fifth, as preformed gel of organobentonite
LD-1291s is an excellent gel additive of organically modified bentonite, it has some advantages as below:
1. Can reach pumping’s gel consistency
2. Easy to add into paint
3. Improve gel’s stability
4. Preformed gel can be added later
5. Easy to disperse
6. Have effect on anti-sinking and anti-floating
Preparation formula of preformed gel:
80-87% solvent (200# solvent gasoline, xylene, toluene )
8-10% organically modified bentonite
3-10% LD-1291s
Sixth, package and storage
1. 50kg enhanced plastic bucket or according to guests’ requirement.
2. Stored sealed under normal temperature indoor for one year.
3. Color change will not affect the quality.
